At Precious British Purrs, we ensure each kitten is carefully monitored throughout their development and will only go to their new home when they are fully ready, typically between 12-14 weeks of age. The exact timing depends on their health and maturity, and we always make this decision with the kitten's best interest in mind.

Every Precious British Purrs kitten comes with:

  • Registered Pedigree Papers with ANCATS

  • 1st kitten vaccination

  • Neutered or spayed (non negotiable)

  • Microchipped

  • Vet checked

  • Dewormed

  • Litter trained

  • Socialised

  • 4 weeks of complimentary pet insurance

  • A personalised welcome pack from us.

Our kittens, in addition to spending crucial time with their mother and siblings, are exposed to a variety of sounds, environments, and daily household activities. This early socialisation ensures they grow into confident, well-adjusted cats, ready to thrive in their new homes. We take great care to provide each kitten with the best possible start in life, so they carry their happy and outgoing personalities with them for a lifetime.

RESERVING A KITTEN

At Precious British Purrs, all available kittens are listed on our website under the Available Kittens tab. We no longer operate a waiting list or take expressions of interest in advance. Instead, kittens are matched with families on a first-come, first-served basis once they are listed as available.

If you see a kitten you are interested in, please contact us via the Contact tab to begin the reservation process. We update our website regularly, so be sure to check back for new arrivals!

Once you reserve a kitten, we will keep you updated on their progress until they are ready to go to their new home.

Important Information

We kindly ask that all payments for your kitten be completed 7 days before pick-up or any travel arrangements. To make this process convenient, we offer a variety of payment methods, including EFTPOS, which are securely processed via our Square terminal.

Once you have reserved a kitten from our Available Kittens tab, we will keep you updated on their progress. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your reservation, which will be applied to the final cost of the kitten. We do not take deposits on unborn kittens.

Our kittens leave neutered or spayed, and this is non-negotiable. If you're looking for a furry companion, this won’t be an issue. We work with a trusted vet who ensures all kittens are thoroughly health-assessed before the procedure. Neutering at a young age is perfectly safe and does not affect a kitten’s growth, as growth is determined by genetics. Please do not request an unneutered kitten, as our answer will always be no.

On rare occasions, we sell a kitten to a registered breeder who follows the same values and ethics as we do. More information for breeders is available upon request.

When picking up your kitten, please bring a suitable cat carrier. The safety and well-being of your kitten during transportation is our top priority, and we will not release a kitten without a proper carrier.

To help you stay connected to your kitten as they grow, we will send weekly photo updates until they are ready to join your family. We are always available for ongoing support and advice, and we love receiving updates and photos of your kitten as they thrive in their new home!

PREPARING FOR YOUR NEW KITTEN

Once you've reserved your new furry family member, to make the transition as smooth as possible for both you and your kitten, it’s essential to have everything prepared ahead of their scheduled pickup or flight. If your kitten is flying to you, please plan ahead and arrive at the designated pickup location well before the scheduled arrival time. Be sure to have all necessary paperwork and proper identification with you for a smooth transfer of ownership.

As you get ready for your kitten's arrival, we recommend gathering all the necessary supplies. Below is a checklist to help you prepare and ensure you’re fully equipped to welcome your new family member.

  • Bedding - Provide a safe and comfortable sleeping area for your kitten, with multiple beds available for them to choose from.

  • Food + Water Bowls - Have two separate bowls for feeding, one for wet food and one for dry food, as well as two water bowls placed in different areas of your home for easy access.

  • Quality Kitten Food - We recommend feeding your new family member high quality cat food such as Taste of the Wild and Zealandia or Royal Canin. Your kitten will have been fed Taste of the Wild dry food and Zealandia/Royal Canin wet food and high quality human grade raw mince before coming to their new home.

  • Litter Tray - While your kitten may be small now, they'll grow into an adult cat, so its best to choose a litter tray that will accommodate their adult size.

  •  Litter - Your kitten is accustomed to using a variety of litters, including paper pellets, tofu, crystal, and clumping clay. Feel free to continue with whichever type suits your home. We high recommend using tofu litter.

  • Carrier - Purchase a solid, sturdy carrier that will accommodate your kitten as they grow.

  • Grooming Equipment - Obtain a brush, comb and nail clippers designed specifically for cats. Regular grooming will help keep your kitten's coat shiny and healthy

  • Scratch posts + Cat Trees - Provide multiple scratching posts and cat trees around the house. This will satisfy their natural scratching instincts and protect your furniture.

  • Toys - Select interactive toys that encourage your kitten to stalk, pounce and chase. These toys area great way to bond with your new furry family member.

Overall, it's essential to ensure you're well prepared with all the necessary items before bringing your new kitten home.

Choosing a name for your new family member is also an exciting part of the journey. While they will already have a registered name for their pedigree papers, don’t feel limited by it. You have the freedom to give them a name of your choosing. Take your time and have fun! Consider names that reflect their personality, physical traits, or even something meaningful to you. The name you choose will become a part of their identity, and you’ll be saying it for many years to come.
